#POSITIVENEWS

Perspective is approaching the end of its first trading year and has been surrounded by positive support from Clients, Contractors and Industry Connections.

Introduction

Established on the 1st of June 2019 by Scott Spittal, the company has taken progressive steps to become the ‘new age’ Building Consultancy in Glasgow and throughout the rest of the UK.

We pride ourselves in the way in which we provide clients with a personal service; agile to their needs and accommodate their requirements. We utilise standard methods and techniques along with modern methods and technologies in order to ensure we address all our Clients requirements efficiently and diligently.

Perspective strives to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with their clients, contractors and connections, thus building trust, reliability and a great network of other professionals.

We are keen to help with any property related matters. If we can’t help; we will put you in touch with the right person.

Expansion

Perspective has made the bold step to recruit Ryan Jones, who has been appointed as a Director within the firm. Scott and Ryan have a previous working career together and always shared a passion for business, building surveying, project management and the built and natural environment.

The expansion comes during the unprecedented uncertainty of COVID-19. Troubling times for all in the sector have made it hard for all aspects of business as well as of life outside of business. However, by expanding the team Perspective hope to be able to provide Clients with some certainty when looking to achieve their outcomes when the self-isolation period has been lifted.

We have reviewed our working practices to ensure that we are able to meet the needs of our clients. Implementing and adapting processes and controls in line with the Government advice.

Who is Ryan Jones?

A little bit from him

My career started in college, where I studied architectural conservation, this gave me the fundamentals in both theory and practical hand-on use of lead, stained glass, natural slate, lime mortar, and stone masonry.

I attended Heriot-Watt University, where I obtained my BSc (Hons) Degree in building surveying. After graduation, I had the opportunity to join a multi-trade contractor to assist their contracts team with major loss reinstatements of both commercial and domestic projects. Wanting to progress with my career and APC ambitions, I gained employment with a well-known private surveying practice, which provided an accelerated career path. I first achieving chartered status, which was obtained in 2016, thereafter progressed through the ranks of private practice.

Over the years, I have continued to expand my training into energy performance, focusing on non-domestic property and assisting clients with section 63 certification during property transactions.

I have specialised in fire and flood damage reinstatement, assisting private clients and loss adjusters with complex claims throughout the construction industry. I find this area of business, both challenging and rewarding. The process of stripping out a damaged property and reinstating it back to a pre-incident condition is uplifting, allowing the property owners to move past the unfortunate event.

The honour of working on listed buildings has also been an interest of mine and in recent years have formed a more substantial part of the refurbishment and restoration works I have been involved with. The property’s history is always fascinating and allows you to interact with heritage and planning professionals. My previous projects have been spread around the UK, giving insight into the different historical construction types used throughout the years.

I am looking forward to working alongside Scott and the existing clients to help grow Perspective. The modern business model allows for flexibility and efficiency so we can deliver the work regardless of location.

Moving forward

With Perspective closing in on its first successful year of business, we are looking to continue working with our existing clients, while developing and exploring new relationships. It has been uplifting to receive such positive and supportive feedback from our contacts and connections, especially during these unprecedented times.
